Changing direct connection to Internet?

  Daxsimus 17:34 01 Sep 08

I have recently applied for a job which involves me having to take some calls at home from clients but I have been advised of the following:

"You must have a local router between you and the internet to run the Software. It seems that your IP Address is a direct connection to the internet. Either disable this connection, or place a router between it and the Internet."

Can someone walk me through what I need to rectify this problem.
I am currently on Tiscali Broadband connected via USB Sagem modem connected to the computer then conected via telephone cable to the phone socket.
Any help greatly welcome.

you need to purchase a router , connect the phone (with a filter) to the router and the router to the PC by an ethernet cable or by a wireless cobbection if your PC has a wireless card.

not sure what you mean by just voice calls. But it will all be done via the computer with installed software routing the calls if that makes sense.
