Just bought a nearly new computer loaded with XP Professional--How can I get rid of the previous owners name, which comes up regularly! I tried to change it in >local disk>documents and settings, but it will not allow me to do it. Any suggestions, please,as I don't really want to reload everything.
Thanks
Glyn

Thanks to Zak & WJRT-- that has sorted changing the registration name, I still need to change the name in >documents & settings. There are 2 folders in there, "all users" & a folder with the previous owners name on it, which it won't let me change to mine. hope you can help.Thanks.

The only way to do this is to set up an Account in your name, transfer the documents to that account then delete the old one.

All Users is always there so you don't tneed to delete it...
