Hi, My belkin wireless net work gives a poor signal in the next room,through solid wall would changing the wireless channel make any improvements can anyone recomend a channel to try thanking you trainman2

It's certainly worth a try. Most routers use 6 or 11 as the default channel so use one of those or, if already using one of them, try the other.

Avoid 1 & 2 as there are too many other wireless devices, including mobile and cordless phones, that use the frequencies of these channels.

Also avoid 12 & 13 because, in some countries, these are illegal. Consequently, some Wireless Network Adapters are designed not to connect on 12 and 13.

Run Inssider, click Scan to see which channels your neighbours use.

Set yours between their peaks.

If it's a weak signal (not interference) can you not get the router near the wall, put the aerial vertical and set it at the same level as your pc or whatever device you're using. You might also be able to add a better aerial.
