Is this possible, please? I've received a spreadsheet containing over 1000 names and addresses, all in upper case & I want to change them.

Thanks

Thanks, but I've got Excel 2000 and I don't think those options are available

Try Edit, Replace a with A etc, etc.....
Not as quick as hzhzhz link.

hzhzhz: thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow when my brain won't be hurting so much!

diy: I'd probably be safer doing it this way, but have just realised I actually want capital initials, so, for example, replacing A with a wouldn't work with a name such as Aaron. Shame but it would have been ok to do them all lower case!

=PROPER()
This function will change the case of a specified cell to title case (ie The first letter of each word in the cell will be capitalised).

I think there are some excel experts on these forums so perhaps wait till tommorow.

with ASAP utilities, a free add-in.

Download and "install" as per instructions.

Select cells you want to alter

On the menu bar select "ASAP Utilities">Text>StartEachWordWithUpperCase

It really is that easy!

Simsy
