Change of Settings in Firefox causing Crash

I have a ACER Laptop with Windows XP, using Firefox as a browser.

I have changed shadowing settings for Firefox:(about;config>shadowing.host) from 4 to 16. This change was to improve the speed of the browser.

After the change the laptop worked fine. However, in the morning when i went to start the laptop it crashed( a blue screen appeared). I have tried to restart in safe mode but the same problem occurs. The error message is
unmountable-boot-volume
and at the bottom it says
STOP 0x00000000ED
(0x80EE8BB8, 0xC000000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

If anyone has come across this before or has any idea to solve this issue, please let me know. Thanks.

Nothing to do with firefox you have a corrupt file on the hard.

Do you have a XP CD?

You need to boot from the CD and go into recovery consul an check the harddrive by typing chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.at the c:\windows prompt

when check disk is finished, type exit to reboot the pC remember to remove the CD first.

Using Recovery Consul
