Change secondary Graphics Card on Acer Aspire

Hi,

I know you cannot normally change a graphics card on a laptop, but having done some googleing, it seems like I would be able to on mine; Acer Aspire V3-571G. I would be looking to upgrade the secondary graphics card, an nvidia 630m 1gb, and not the basic intel one.

I may be making wrong assumptions here, but I would have thought that because the nvidia isn't the main graphics card it would be easier to get at and change?

Any advice would be great and thanks in advance! :)

Not recommended. This should answer your query - Laptop Upgrade

You need to download a service manual and check if its a separate card or just another chip on the motherboard.

If separate card then yes, you could replace it

Fruit Bat - looking at the Spec the Nvidia appears to be the main graphics card with the Intel being onboard Specification
