Change icons on exe files

Is there a way of changing the icon on a single exe file.

I know I can change them all via windows, but just want to change the one to give to my clients on a CD.

It is not very appropriate to use the default one.

change the icon for the exe itself, as it's built into the file*, but you can make a shortcut to it and change the icon for the shortcut. Would that work?

Regards,

Simsy

*As usual, I'm open to correction?

I haven't found any freeware offerings but click here for some shareware ones. You can try before you buy but I would expect the shareware versions to give some message that they are shareware until you buy the software. I have just tried 'Exe Wrapper' and it changed the icon but gave a shareware message when the program it changed was lauched.

Thanks, the option of changing the shortcut is not really an option unfortunately.

Alot of reading too eric looks promising so i will investigate those. Hate having to pay though.
