Cds to player problem

I have some cds that I would love to transfer to my Mp3 player, but the player only accepts Mp3 and WMA formats, do you know how I can get around this ?. I did try to download AVS audio converter but it came with a virus threat so I cancelled it. Help please, it would be much appreciated.

What programmes do you already have - for example my X-Fi sound card has software to convert to Mp3. Just capture the CD to a folder and convert it. I use a paid for software as well, ie Roxio Creator 2009, but others will suggest free software (Audacity etc) . Also, iTunes (free) will let you import Mp3 from a cd, then you could copy from the iTunes music folder to your Mp3 Player. So many options, I expect others will suggest a simper one.

If you are using Windows you can rip cd's to mp3 or wma format in Media Player.
