CDRW not detected

Software from my Fuji digicam reports an error 'CD-R drive does not exist' if I click ok to get past the error, the 'Write Speed' and 'Destination Device' have nothing in their drop-down memories. I have tried to re-install the software but that hasn't resolved it. My OS is 98SE. Any ideas? Thanks TR

Does the software (whatever it is) support your CD Writer?

Yes I checked the list of supported drives on their website. TR

go into "device manager", delete the CD-R drive, confirm with Yes then reboot. Win 98 will reinstall the CD-R drive, then reinstall the application/software and try again...

Tried that and no luck, I was just trying to burn my photo's in a slideshow format when putting them onto CDR to move over to my new machine, when it arrives. I'll try it again on the new PC and post back if there's any problem. I'll tick this resolved even though it in't. Regards TR
