CDRW Detection.

Ive just reinstalled my window xp. But for some reason xp wont detect my slave cd drive. Im forced to go into device manager and refresh the hardware for it to display the device. Im thinking it could be the fact that when I installed windows xp. The slave drive wasnt detected in the bios. I redid my connections after install & the bios now detects the drive, but xp still does not pick it up. unless I refresh hardware or have a cd in the drive or startup.

Try uninstalling in Device Manager and see if it finds new hardware after the reboot
