I have a Samsung CDR/RW that will read Original Data and Music discs but won't read any CDR copies, even when it is burnt with this drive (any discs burnt on this disc will play on other drives) I am beginning to think it is the pc and not the drive, anyone came across this before,

My father had something like this.

I remember he was told that the read laser wasn't powerful enough to read CDRs that had dark coloured reading layers on them. It read commercial CDs and DVDs (it was a combi drive) perfectly OK.

This was a long time ago. I think he threw the drive away in disgust.
