CD/DVD Drive failure

Got a Tosh Sat Pro less than a year ago. About 5 months ago the CD player decided it didn't want to work. It whirrs away but doesn't recognise any media in the drive.

I've tried Device Manager and have uninstalled the device, checked for hardware and the laptop picks up the drive again as a device. But still nothing. The drive has the yellow apostrophe next to it in the Device Manager but when I try to update the driver it says it's already the latest. Disabling and enabling does nothing.

Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing.

Help suggests the driver cannot be loaded suggesting it's corrupt or missing.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

DieSse you're a star - thanks very much the drive is now being recognised by the PC.
