CD/DVD Burner

I burn a lot of CDs, however after a couple of years of trouble free discs, they have now started to skip or jump when burned. It's not my hi fi, that plays pre-recorded discs perfectly and I've cleaned the Rewrighter with a cleaning disc. Therefore I believe it's reached the end of its life and is responsible for the mistracking. Can anyone confirm I'm correct and, if so is fitting a new one much of a task for a guy like me who's never been inside my computer tower...(And doesn't really want to alter that situation!).

Yes its possibly an age related problm.

to change a drive is easy it is just 4 mounting screws and two cables that plug in the back.
