CD Writers

I have recently purchased a Olympus Camedia C300 digital camera and now am interested in a DVD Writer to store pictures on CD.

I note the PC Magazine recommends the Sony DRU-500A DVD Writer but would like to know whether:-

a. When I have copied the digital pictures onto disc using the DVD Writer, can I show the digital pictures through my TV home movies DVD player or do I have to go through my computer.

b. If the pictures can be shown on my movie DVD player, how do you control individual pictures, do I require additional software.

As I am new to this game any help would be much appreciated.

you do not need a dvd writer to make photo cd's a cd writer will do the same thing and also let you play then on your home dvd player providing it lets you play vcd's,there is plenty of free software to download to let you make slide shows.
