CD Writer not recognised

  Woody Ham 12:02 02 Sep 05

I have installed Lite-on LTR-12101B CD writer and have Nero installed (Windows XP). Although all the diagnosistics tell me that the drive is working poroperly, it is not recognised as a writer. It keeps opening the drawer and saying insert CD. I have tried countless new CDs to no avail.

Using the check for updated drivers button says that there are no updates and I have the latest drivers.

Any thoughts please?

Try removing it from the device manager and rebooting; that may sort it out.

I am running Win 2000 with a Lite-on LTR 48246K.

It will only work with the bundled Nero that came with it ( which seem to be a fairly recent version.

Maybe that might give a clue?
