CD Rom Unresponsive

Hi out there

I have a couple of problems and I wonder if anyone can help me with them.

One of my CD Rom devices is no longer recognising any of the discs that I put into it. The drawer opens and shuts fine, but the PC simply refuses to acknowledge that anything is in it. It was fine last night but its not happy today. Any ideas?

My other CD Rom drawer simply refuses to open at all. Is this likely to be a hardware or software problem?

the one not being recognised - go to system - hardware manager - select the cd rom that is not working correctly and delete it. Restart and hopefully it will be found and reinstalled.

sometimes holding the control key down and pressing Z can open a drawer. Do you know if perhaps a cd is in it and has possibly moved and jammed it> Get a paperclip and open it out and put it in the little hole on the front and you should be able to pen it.
