i had a cd that was a bit broken so i stopped using it. i installed a dvdrw and started using that for all my needs. I have just installed a new game using the dvdrw drive. the game seems to be installed on my hard drive. when i try to play the game by clicking on the icon, it tells my to insert the cd. i insert the cd but i think the pc is looking for the old drive (no longer in use). is there any way of deleting the old drive from my pc so that my pc does not "look" for it.

try and do it the other way round.

What happens if you put the cd in the drive, and let it auto run? Many games once installed will offer the option to 'play' if the cd is installed and allowed to auto run.

After all, you have to put the disk in to play, so the software assumes that play the game is what you want to do, when you put the disk in.
