cd-r and deleted files

i recently created a cd-r of my files. when i go back into recordnow it let me delete one of these files straight off of the disk after it was burnt. why is this

Becuase of the way you recorded it - if you'd closed the disc after recording, it would have been unalterable. Look in the recording options - you can leave a disc *open* - which means you can effectively change it - or you can *close* it - which converts it into a CD-ROM format that is unchangeable.

Nothing is ever actually deleted from a CD-R - that is impossible - but the index, which is a list of what files are on the disc, can be changed (by writing a new version of it), to exclude the file you *deleted*.
