cd problem

My paxckard bell has a DVD rw which should presumably be able to play the CD films etc I burned onto disks with my last computer. It wont. It does not recognise the CDs....any advice? Thanks

you tried any cds even prper dvd's and have they played. If they havent then it could be the actual laser problem.

Try a laser cleaner to see if that helps. If that doesnt then it could be that the laser player has broken down and the only rmedy you have is to either buy a player drive and inser it or buy a usb external one.

It could also depend on the method of burning the original discs and whether or not they were correctly 'finalised'.
