CD Player Earphone Jack

Soundcard is properly installed and I can hear music through speakers without any problem. However, I'm unable to hear anything when using earphones hooked up to the CD player earphone jack. The earphones are working fine on my hi fi so they are not the problem. This was never a problem onmy old PC. Any suggestions anyone?

This is de-activated in newer CD devices if there is a sound cable in the back of the drive. The solution is to use the rear output socket on the sound card.

2 things:
1) AS Diesee says, you may have to use output socket. Alot of new comuters do not have headphones scokets, so you buy a splitter (about £1.50(?) from Maplins) which allows headphones and speakers.

2) Check the setting to make sure that headphones are not ticked as mute.
