CD playability issue

Can someone who is selling a reasonable quality, correctly recorded CD, expect that it should play on any and every CD disk drive?

Thank you...just a quick question.

yes if it is a bona-fide cd it should play on any cd player

I think if it is a data cd it will only play on PC's.

I was thinking of a recording made at home rather than a retail music cd.

If you're talking about a CD-R or CD-RW recorded at home - then no, there are several compatability issues - many domestic players are not specified to read CD-RWs.

Pre-recorded (ie commercially produced) CDs may have a copy protection mechanism that is incompatible with PCs.

If you can be more specific about the inst<nce, some more specific advice can be given.
