CD drive won' t read created discs

  david-338461 10:57 18 May 05

I have copied a CD Rom using both Nero and Clone (Nero as copy disc function). My drive reads the source disc OK and both programmes report a sucessful burn. However, my cd drive will not recognise the copies. They show up as blank discs.
I have tried both copies in another machine (CD reader only) and both read perfectly.

Any ideas out there as to why my CDRW won't recognise discs it has just created?

i have that problem with some discs as well.

it could be a driver problem or it could be you've got an old CD drive.

it might be time for a drive upgrade as thats what i had to do.

The CDRW is on my Microstar laptop which is only 18 months old so, I'm hoping the drive is not on its way out
