Please help a Sen Cit.
My CD Drive [M] is not working. Put a CD in and message is -- "M:\IS NOT ACCESSIBLE. The disc structure is corrupted and unreadable.
It doesn't matter what kind of disc, music or data.
What does this mean? The cd/rw is still ok.

The first question to ask is whether M is really the letter for your CD drive. Have a look in MY Computer and check the drive letters.

M is the CD Drive.

If the CD drive doesn't recognise any type of disk yet the cd/rw drive does, check the cables and connections to the drive. If all is well, then the most likely cause is that the drive itself has failed. You can confirm this by swapping the cd and cd/rw drives over. CD dives are very cheap click here, even a dvd drive or cd/rw drive is available for less than £15.
