CD copies

Prior to a format and re-install, I copied a couple of ACCESS databases from my computer to a CD.
On trying to re-install the database FROM the CD to the computer, I get 'The database file is READ ONLY' and I want to put it back in ACCESS in its original state. I am unable to copy it back, change any details or add to it, and since it took half my life to compose, I would like to know how to get it back !
Any suggestions, please.

After copying the file to a suitable directory, right-click in Windows Explorer and remove the read-only attribute. You cannot do this on the CD-R, which is read-only by nature.

Then open the Hard Drive copy in Access.

Otherwise, open from CD, and Save As from the Access file menu to save it to the Hard Drive in My Documents or wherever you want.

Pesala - thanks!
Tried your first suggestion and I can now work on my database as before. What a useful tip!
Greatly appreciated
