CD burning problem

  PJ8 21:41 28 Apr 05

My computer has stopped writing files to CD's.(CD-R or CD-RW). When trying to copy files from the harddisk to the Cd-drive E, the CD writing wizard comes up with a message: "Please insert a recordable disk into the Cd drive" even though there is a disk in there. Having tried various blank disks, I cant go any further. Please Help!
operating:-Windows XP, 2GHz, Pentium 4 computer

sounds like a problem with the laser not reconising the CD....try blowing in the CD drive at the lazer incase of dust, if not i sujest a laser cleaning kit...if that doesnt work, contact the manufacturer if under warrenty and get it looked at or go to ur local shop, not pcworld...u can get it cheaper at a local shop!
