Cd audio to Mp3 conversion question

  Chris Webster 22:56 13 Feb 06

Does anyone know of any free and simple to use programmes that will convert cd audio tracks into mp3 format and run on Windows 98se. I want to install one on my nephews computer so he can put some mp3's on his mobile phones trans-flash card via a card reader.

He hasn't got a cd burner so the programme will only have to convert cd audio to mp3.

Cheers Chris.

I don't think MP10 works with 98SE. You can use MP9, but of the two I would use CDex.

I've a feeling Media Player 10 is only compatible with XP but not 100% sure.

Cheers Chris.

You've got lot's of pointers now, but, for what it's worth, I'm with LABMAN. FreeRip is superb. Very simple, configurable, totally reliable and best of all it's free. Highly recommended.

Audiograbber click here its freeware and will do exactly what you want. There is a codec you have to download as well but its also free, without the codec the best bitrate it can give is 64kps which is a bit low better ripping to 128 or 192. Its a good wee program and full instructions are on the site.
