CCleaner - Tray Notification Cache

Can anyone explain the above please? I see in the help file that it is not effective until
explorer.exe is manually restarted????
What on earth does that mean?

Excellent. I followed the instructions in the above link.

I you run this in CCleaner then open Task Manager by right clicking on the taskbar, end the process "Explorer.exe" (the desktop icons disappear). On the applications tab click on
"new task", type in "explorer.exe" then click on OK.

Voila! Old tray notification icons gone.
