The Catalyst Control Centre.

  teribus 20:52 03 Mar 09

We recently purchased an Acer Laptop 5535 with Vista Basic installed. Every time we boot up the computer, this notice appears:
"The Catalyst Control Centre is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adaptor. Please update your ATI graphics driver or enable your ATI adaptor using the displays manager."
Could you please advise how best to deal with this problem - - and how important is it to everyday use of the computer.
Thanking you, Teribus.

The Catalyst Centre normally requires .NET Framework (Version 2 at least) to also be installed.

However, the Catalyst software is quite bloated and I prefer to just install the ATi driver and couple it with ATi Tray Tools; a fraction of the size and with much the same configuration outcome.

You can download the driver individually from:

(follow the links)

which will allow normal use of your display and ATi Tray Tools from:

I mean, of course, the ATi individual display driver.
