I recently downloaded a program called audiograbber to record my old tapes to cd. It was a free offer from a cd in a PC magazine (Australia). I succsessfully connected the hi fi up to the computer and followed the instructions to record. There is a box to click on to adjust the volume but it would not open, I could record and play back files but without sound. Dous anyone know how to fix this problem? Are all free programs crap ? or can anyone recommend a free program that will work ? Or is it a fault with my computer (Windows XP). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Checked your settings in the audio control panel? Sometimes devices are "muted" by default, or assigned to other outputs.

More info on mobo, soun etc. would be appreciated.
