The Case of the Missing Hard Drive AWOL!

I recently had a boot up problem, which, after receiving good advice on here was resolved - here is the link:click here

However, another related problem has occured on the same PC.

Whilst working on a music project in Cubase I tried to access audio files on my Hard Drive D - I have two separate hard drives, one for applications C Drive and one for audio files D Drive. I clicked on 'My Computer' tab and saw that my D drive wasn't even listed and had vanished!

I checked the BIOS to see that it wasn't listed there either.

When I re-booted it had returned!

I find this quite alarming and would be grateful if anyone has an idea how this could have occurred and if it could be related to the previous boot problem?
