card write protection

I have a Smart Media card which the camera will not now access, stating "card error". The PC shows the card as "write protected", possibly this results from removing it from the PC card reader while it was being accessed. Is there any way to remove the write protection so the card can be used in the camera?

Have you tried formatting the card?

spikeychris yes, doesn't solve the problem. Had to reformat in the PC as the camera doesn't access the card.

Obvious one: the circle on the card isn't covered is it?

click here for a specialist forums response. It would appear there is a download available that could help "smprep.exe"
