Hi, Might be a silly question but here goes.
Is a Memory stick reader the same as a Flash card reader? Thanks

No

Memory sticks can be Sony memory sticks ect

As flash cards are compact flash cards ect.

Feel free to ask as many questions.

Thanks. So what would i need to use with a digital camera?

For a start, you need to know what kind of memory it uses.

Just looked, its a compact flash card 64mb. Never used it before but i've lost my camera cable so thought i'd give it a go.

So what you need is a Compact Flash reader.

Sorry. Simple really.
Thanks for the advice everyone.
Dax.

No problem

and don't worry people come on here all the time telling us there taskbar is ontop of the desktop rather than underneath when what they have done is dragged it.lol.

Could be even better to buy a multi-card reader/writer, say 7-in-1, as you may change the type of memory you use in the future; cost will be about £8 to £10 and slightly more for a 12-in-1. There's even a 19-in-1 listed on one website...:-)

If you use XP you won't need a driver for a card reader.

Always best to check these things before you buy a camera. I bought a Fuji Finepix A330 last year. I knew my PC had a multi format card reader on it. What I didn't know was that it didn't have a slot for the XD memory cards that the camera used!

Fortunately, my recently purchased HP printer DID have such a slot, and all ended well.
