card reader query

Vista Home

When I insert my memory stick a pop-up box asks:-
"this disk or device contains more than one type of content"

when I insert an SD card in reader nothing happens - can access it through explorer - but it use to pop up as above with options to select -

is there a switch to push/workaround??

I don`t use Vista but in XP I would select the reader with a right click go to `Properties` and the AutoPlay tab and select options from there. Is this dealt with the same way in Vista?

saw no option when I clicked the properties tag
but will have another look

In Vista, Autoplay is accessed via the Control Panel. Double-click its icon, and all options are available for you to set to your requirements.

accessed Autoplay via the Control Panel - selected picture and open with - but SD card still just sits there only accessible through windows explorer.
Use to pop up in past without prompt.

Just to be clear, did you do all of the following?

Go to Control Panel>Autoplay

Tick the checkbox at the top against "Use Autoplay for all media and devices"

On the drop-down menu beside Pictures, select "Ask me every time"

Click Save

"Ask me every time" was selected so I chose option for windows to open pictures

'All media' was ticked - and saved

will revert back and see what happens

Well, hopefully the above will have got it working, but if not click here
