capture to DVD

I have a pinnacle tv/svideo capture card that captured to DVD format have much can I capture so that it will fit to a DVD-R with out haveing to edit it down.

4.6 gig is the usuall size but depending what software you use you may be able to get 5gig+ on 1 dvd,if you make a DVD9 dvd you can get upto 9gig on 1 dvd but you would need a dual layer dvd burner for that.

what does that equal in minutes of video to capture ie 1 hour of captured video = how many minutes

Depends on how the footage was captured, encoded and the intended file format/compression method you plan to use and eventually burn to disk.

Generally speaking though, an hour of footage from a MiniDv Camera at full resolution will fill a DVD.
