Can’t watch/edit home videos in Media Player 9.0

I have just read an article in pc advisor march 03 about watching and editing videos in media player 9.0. It mentioned within media player is MS Movie Maker, which allows to copy, edit and play own movies. Unfortunately I haven’t got the option “Video” in the control bar where Maker is suppose to be.
I am using a Sony digital video camera.
Can anyone help?

access the windows Movie Maker from the all programs menu, under accessories, i'm not aware of a link to it inside WMP9

You cannot edit Videos, you can only watch them in WMP9.0

To edit you have to use movie maker as horiz5 says

Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Windows Movie Maker

found it, so thanks for the help.
I am using XP.
The article in pcadvisor is a bit misleading so.
