Any ideas? When I go online (old time 56k dialup)I instantly start receiving data, even when IE and OE are not open, have run Norton and Spybot with no success, evry time I connect the data just starts streeming, oh running XP pro with SP1 and updates.

Have you looked at your Task Manager when this his happening (by Ctrl+Alt+Del) and checked what processes are running that could be causing download?

Streaming still happening at start? Are you able to close/stop the stream?

Turned out to be all 70 odd mb of SP2! Have now switched off the auto update facility, trouble is I now have SP2 sitting there waiting to be installed, which I have bottled out of so far as the machine is running very smoothly at the moment and am unsure of the probs that may incured with SP2.
