cant set correct memory speed

k i have 512Mb 333Mhz PC2700 184Pin DDR Memory
when i boot up it says memory freqency 166mhz
my fsb is 133mhz so my memory should be running at 266mhz?? ive looked in bios and i cant find setting to change it i have asus a7n8x deluxe mobo plz help

are you sure its not set by jumpers on the mobo,I think it is on my asus mobo,have another read of the manuel.

setting the memory speed is distinct from cpu speed, fsb, or the multiplier settings. i'm not familiar with your board, but you should have something akin to "advanced chipset features" in the bios. i've a hunch your memory speed can be altered there.

If you have 333MHz PC2700 RAM, then your memory bus speed should be set to 166MHz.

This is not necessarily the same setting as your CPU bus speed.
