Do you use Zone Alrm as well? Has been problem for others as reported in other forum.

(P.S. You can often find solutions by using Google inputting the error message you receive)

Have you checked your settings in Outlook express, if using that client? Tools > Accounts > Properties.

Are you trying to use OE to log and is it your first time? Ie trying to set up an account in OE?

hi guys
ive had my computer for a few years
ive ran avg for long and weary
zone alrms for a few months now, but everything has been working well...

until friday, coudnt get email
i thought it was a server problem

i can access the internet, see this post!
but i cant get into the blueyonder self care page or my ebay

i have used my sons computer on this shared web connection and i can get into email there and use the selfcare and my ebay from there

i have run avg and apybot and adaware, nothing clearing it
ive went back until thursday with a system restore, but thats not worked either

i think i must have a Fecking virus as it seems to be this computer...agghhhh

what next to do? a system restore from new?
will

hi have a look at the settings for your sons and your own email user (if they are the same one)as suggested earlier by Jak_1.

If they are the same then its probably another program 'interering' if you think its AVG or Zone Alarm, have you any other similar program that could be causing the problem.

First breifly turn off Zone alarm and see if you can sent/receive email. If yes then its Zone alarm

Do the same with AVG and try sending email.

I usually dont suggest turning antivirus prog + firewall off but its what I'd do.

have you also tried adaware and spybot?
