can't see my Outlook Express messages

  BrianW 10:47 28 Sep 04

I compacted my messages last night and for some reason all old records are no longer visible.

The .dbx files are stil present in C:\documents & settings\aplications details and e-mails sent and received today are being stored correctly and are visible (even after compacting as a test).

Does anybody have any clues how I can get back to my original file visibility?

I've looked in Microsoft help and on-line but it is the usual MS opaque set of information - no use to man nor beast

If you use ME or XP can't you do a 'system restore. to a point before you changed the settings. HTH TR

I should have said, that that was my first move but it didn't resolve the problem
