Can't remove unwanted programs

  claluc 10:45 03 Apr 10

I have a number of programs appearing in my C/Program Files folder that I would like to remove as they are no longer needed, none of them appears in Start Programs nor Add Remove Programs, CCleaner and Revo Uninstaller also don't see them yet they are still well in the C drive. Have browsed through the forum first but generally only found the two solutions above which don't work in my case.
In another post I have read of a Windows Install and Cleanup Facility that could be downloaded from MS, have tried but no results found.
Is there a way to safely remove them other than deleting the actual folder from C Drive? I wouldn't want to also remove shared files and cause major problems.

start, run, regedit look in software in the sections for the stuff you dont want, careful not to delete any windows microsoft items.
