I have removed a program with add / remove in control panel in Windows Me .But the program is still in the listing and I can't remove it.It still tries to remove the program with a uninstall pro and then reports it cann't find the path etc.Is there a registery setting I can alter to get rid of this entry so I can reinstall the software.

Start > Run > Type: regedit

Click ok.

Follow path to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Find your entry and delete.

But back it up first before you do anything. click here

click here and download add/remove pro. In the interests of checking I've just downloaded it and used it and it is very good and easy to use It will remove dead progs from the add/remove box and is safer than editing the registry.
