Can't remember how to FDISK?

  Will 13:05 12 Sep 05

I have cobbled together a computer out of spare parts I have after upgrades etc. It is a 1400Mhz, 512ram, and has 2 HDD (6&20). The disks have XP installed but I want to wipe both of them clean and install Win 98SE so I can run a video to digital card which I bought when I had only a 400Mhz and was purgotoy to use because it was slow. It is a pinnicle product and they told me the system only works on Win 9X. Can some one advise me on the procedures on how to clean the disk. Thanks as always.

are the hard drives (at present) FAT32 or NTFS?

Download a Win 98SE bootdisk from click here

Set the BIOS to boot from floppy first. Put the bootdisk in and switch on.

When you get to A: type in fdisk and enter.

If your hard drives are NTFS you will see somewhere in the Fdisk menu an item referring to non DOS/FAT partitions (or something like that, can't remember the actual wording) You need to delete all those partitions and then run fdisk as normal. Don't forget to make the primary partition active and then format it. Do the same for the other hard drive.
