MY SYSTEM IS 1800XPCPU..GIGABYTE KT400 MOTHERBOARD ..256 DDR266..ASUS TI4200 VIDEO CARD.
EVERYTHING RUNS FINE IN WINDOWS M.E BUT IN XP THE GAMES ARE LOADING THEN CRASHING OUT BACK TO THE DESKTOP!
XP WAS A CLEAN INSTALL WITH OBVIOUSLY ALL THE RELEVANT DRIVERS LOADED OFF THE MAINBOARD SETUP DISK AND VIDEO CARD SETUP DISK.
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST WHAT I DO NEXT.....THANX A MILLION

If the games are old then try using the Compatability facility in XP to set them to 95/98.

Type 'Compatability' in XP Help to find the facility

Have you install DirectX 8.1b (sometimes called 8.2)??

Have you tried updated Video drivers from click here?

NO ALL THE LATEST GAMES BREMNER AND YES INSTALLED DIRECTX OFF THE ASUS DISK MAC.
SURELY THE DRIVERS ON THE ASUS SETUP DISK WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH TO RUN UNDER XP..ITS A RELATIVELY RECENT GRAPHICS CARD..HHMMMMMMMMMMM

wot games are they? Some games require a fix to run on xp. Tomb Raider Chronicles for example requires a replacement exe

Check your desktop refresh rate! I think some games need a certain refresh rate to run properly. XP defaults back to 60hz when playing games.

Download refresh force from here: click here

This stops XP going back to 60hz when playing games.
