  Botch Casually 17:34 18 Jun 07

Im trying to cleanup after my daughter opened an unknown file on messenger and infected the computer with a version of Isass.
My mainproblem now is that I can't get into System volume information.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just restore to a time before the infection

Why do you all go back to restore system so often just remove vires etc.

Just find the removal tool and clean system

Just ask google the question in simply form

Isass Removal Tool etc

Because system volume info files are hidden and turning off system restore or deleting manually is the only way to go..

If you read your link it actually tells you to disable system restore before you use the removal tool...

mine is always disable

still does not alter the fact that you can't scan them or remove anything from them unless you disable or manually delete, they are hidden by default that even with admin rights you cannot get to them, unless you follow my link..

You can restore to before the Date of the Infection, its only restore points after that as the infection

Had a feeling you could, would much depend on the type of intruder some of them render system restore useless in that department.
I can also see the logic of not having system restore turned on as per ambra4, if there is no system volume info file the virus/spy/malware cannot hide itself..

After Restore it should be turned of, before creating a new Restore point
