Can't open Media Player folders

  Baz48 12:13 21 Nov 04

I am trying to copy music CD's as wma files, to the HD, using Windows Media Player (ver. 9 & 10).

The files copy OK but when I try to open the folder in Windows Explorer it crashes to the Desktop with the message "Instruction at "xxxxxx" referenced memory at "xxxxx". Memory could not be written". The numbers vary. Sometimes I just get the Microsoft report error message.

On the very odd occasion that the file manages to open, if I transfer the wma files to a new folder then this opens OK.

I am running XP Home, Athlon 2000, 512Mb ram, have upgraded Media PLayer and onboard sound drivers. I have no problem with other folders.
