Can't Install Program

I previously had it installed and working. Some while ago I removed it. Since then the only change to my system has been extra memory.

When I press set up it goes through the install process and then a window appears saying that 100% of files have been copied. Nothing else happens after this. I ended the set up or installation proces and tried to run it but it would not run. The name of the program is 'The Multimedia Encyclopedia of Science Fiction'.

Is it in Add/Remove?
Have a look in program file to see if there are any folders then delete.
Do a search for any files or folders with the name of the program maker and delete.
You may have to go to safe mode as administrator to do some of these deletions

The set up program insisting in insalling Quick Time after the main files were installed. The window for choosing to install QT only flashed on the screen for a second and disappeared. So I installed QT before installing main files and I now have the program up and running.

I just don't understand why I never had any problems with previous installations.
