Can't install flash

  originalmiscellany 21:47 12 Jun 06

Really stupid question - i'm ICT literate, so I've done the obvioust things;

But I can't install flash for websites, e.g. the BBC player ratings. It tells me that I don't have it installed, to click on the flash website to do it.
I then get the "correctly installed "text and animation, but then when I go back to the website it still says i'm without flash!

I've looked in spyware blaster and i've not blocked flash -
I've tried running it in mozille firefox and i get the same errors!

Any ideas please?
I do have ccleaner, spybot s and d, spyware blaster and ad-aware installed...

Please help!

Did you re-boot after installing Flash?

but still no good.

It simply doesn't like me!

"It simply doesn't like me!"

That's your answer, then.

Give it up as a bad job. ;-)

One more thing.

Have you also installed Shockwave?

to rate the players on the BBC website! And it used to work a few weeks back (i don't have system restore on my computer) but it's not working now...

i will double check and get back to you

by installing an offline version of flash and shockwave rather than the newer install which seemingly does it online for you. THen the updates worked fine. Don't ask me why!
