Can't get wireless connection on my Voyager C530

I have an Evesham Voyager C530 Xtra laptop(Evesham went bust earlier in 2008) - I also have a Netgear DSL MODEM Router dg8343g V3. The router works fine when I use an ethernet wire to the laptop but I have no idea how to activate a wireless connection. I am running on Windows Vista and when I click the wireless icon in the system tray and ask it to connect, it says ...
'Turn on Wireless Connection - this can be done by using a switch, which is usually found on front or side of the computer, or a function key combination'

Well, I havent found the combination, and there definitely is NO switch anywhere on the laptop.

I am struggling with this now and would really love to have a wire-free life

It should be the Fn + F1 combination.

Thanks to djwheeler ... I will give it a try! Cheers.
