Can't get rid of a virus identified by Norton

  SpursAl 09:25 22 Apr 06

I have started getting loads of annoying pop ups and various pop up blockers have limited effect. Norton anti-virus scans have revealed a file called creative free.exe which is shown as adware.Lop. I have tried numerous ways to eradicate it including MediaWipe, HijackThis, Windpws defender and a couple of adware systems but to no avial. Is it a concern and how do I get rid of it?

You could stop system restore, run your AV, Ewido , ad aware programs etc. Reboot and then restart system restore.

Why not switch off "system restore" and then try to delete this, or boot in "safe mode" and do the same- nearly the same as "rdave13" suggests
