Can't get out of safe mode

  Bearsy 09:37 02 Feb 04

I was online whenthe system crashed. Excel, Sage, Demon connect were all open at the time. When I rebooted the system came up in safe mode and I have been unable to get the full system up since, even manually. Where do I go from here?
I have Windows 98 and I am on a peer-to-peer network with 2 other computers. Neither of these is affected.

Hi Bearsy. If Windows 98 won't let you boot other than in Safe Mode, then there is probably something wrong with a driver or system file. Try system file checker. Start - Run. Type sfc in the window and click OK. Select "Scan for altered files" and click Start.

Check device manager for conflicting/missing devices

Do a scandisk, you may have some open files.
